Darla Davenport-Powell is a force of nature! She is  president and CEO of Greater Works LLC, a multimedia edutainment company that produces multicultural products and television programs for a global audience. She also is a mentor, life coach and volunteer career counselor. And, she serves as an advisor to students transitioning from high school to college.

Davenport-Powell received her bachelor of arts degree from Hampton University, graduating magna cum laude. She earned a master’s degree in Journalism and Public Affairs from the American University. She earned a master of science in Higher Education  from Drexel University, where she conducted an action-based research study designed to bridge the leadership pipeline gap in higher education. The study’s title is:  Preparing African-American Women for the Community College Presidency.

Davenport-Powell, a South Carolina native, enjoys inventing, writing, speaking and spending time with family and friends.

    Darla, this is truly inspiring, awesome to watch and to read about! I have no excuse! God does things in our lives in such strange ways sometimes we have to just trust Him and hold on knowing it will be great. Opportunities are there to be taken advantage of, we just have to act!     Well….i came….i saw….i read and now I’M INSPIRED. Darla you are such a blessing to all who know you. You never cease to amaze me. Thanks for sharing of yourself in this way.
